About Annie

Hi,  I'm Annie, a birth & postnatal doula serving the Borders, Edinburgh and the surrounding areas.

I'm a mum, a trained pregnancy yoga teacher, baby massage therapist and reiki practitioner.  It was during my own birth journey that I discovered what a useful, and potentially vital role a doula could play for a birthing woman and her partner.

I completed my doula training with Kate Woods of Concsious Birthing.  A Doula UK and European Doula Network accredited course.  I am a member of the Scottish Doula network, which forms the foundation for the support I receive and am able to offer others

Having the familiar face of a woman at your birth can be deeply reassuring.  Especially if its someone you have built a trusting, friendly and supportive relationship with.  This support and reassurance is very often felt by your partner too. It is the doula's role to gently, sensitively and intuitively navigate an environment and the needs of the people she is serving with confidence, integrity and calm.

I'm here to support you and your family through this exciting & life changing journey into motherhood with respect, kindness and compassion.  My role is to care for you, to encourage you; to believe in you, to honour your choices, to offer you information and be patient.

I will listen to you and your partner every step of the way so that you feel empowered and prepared to birth your child.

I'm currently a mentored doula, which means that should we need it we have the support & wisdom of yet another wonderful woman by our side along the way.

I look forward to meeting you for a coffee and a chat!
